- He is a Life Member of Cardiology Society of India, Interventional Council of India, Indian College of Cardiology, Indian Medical Association, and a Life Member as well as a Fellow of the Indian Society of Electrocardiology.
- Dr. Pillai has completed his MBBS from MGIMS Sevagram Wardha in 1973, MD from Seth G S Medical College, Mumbai in 1978, and DM – Cardiology from K E M Hospital in 1982.
- He has been awarded first prize as Interventional Cardiologist at BARD international Best Case Contest where he trained in complex coronary interventions for 3 months.
- His expertise lies in Stress Echocardiography, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Cardiac Catheterisation, Fetal Echocardiography, Carotid Artery Disease, etc.
